Hotel Catalina

I have been going to Jaco almost every year since 1994 and I can't imagine staying anywhere other than the Hotel Catalina. I still can't believe I found this place tucked away at the south end of the beach away from all the noise of downtown Jaco. And it was exactly as the website described it. Naomi and Sandra are always so welcoming and make me feel right at home from the minute I get there(usually in the middle of the night) The rooms are clean and comfortable and you can't get any closer to the beach. The garden setting is perfect for enjoying the sunset each night and the hotel dog Dino is more than happy to keep you company as the sun goes down.

Hotel Club del Mar

I stayed at Club Del Mar this august with a friend of mine. We had a condo and was completely worth it! The bar has great breakfast, "tapas", and lunch. Dinner was decent. However, you can cook for yourself in the condo with the stove, toaster, blender, microwave and coffee pot!

Hotel Poseidon

I just returned from a week in Costa Rica. I only stayed two nights at Hotel Poseidon and I wish I could have stayed longer. I loved everything about this place...the food, the rooms, the service, the location, etc. The beach can be seen from the front door and great restaurants and shops surround the hotel. We spent hours at the hotel bar each night laughing and telling stories with the locals, other tourists, and Mark (the bartender). Internet is available for hotel guests and the staff is very willing to help you with whatever you need. Arial at the front desk was extemely helpful fixing the mess that was created by Interbus (transportation company). **Note: I would NOT recommend using Interbus. Unfortunately, we already pre-booked Interbus prior to arriving in Costa Rica. They forgot us on the way to Jaco and were 3 hours late bringing us back to San Jose.

Hotel Jaco Fiesta

My husband & I visited Jaco in 2002 & stayed at this resort. We originally were going to stay there for one night, but ended up staying for an entire week! We loved the fact that we could jump in the pool about 2 steps from our room door, and it was a 1 minute walk to the beach. We were there during non-tourist season, so there were few other guests staying there & we got personal attention, which was incredible for only paying about $40.00 American dollars a night! All of the employees, from the front desk to the bartenders, the maids & the guards, were pleasant & made our stay quite comfortable. I felt very safe staying there. I would recomend Fiesta to anyone venturing to Jaco without a second thought!

We went to Costa Rica to explore and relax. My boyfriend, his brother and I visited Costa Rica. The hotel was clean, staff was really friendly and accomidating. We really enjoyed interacting with Moses. The staff spoke english and were always eager to assist us with whatever we needed. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is always cleaning the grounds. Andrienne at the Grey Tour desk located in the lobby of the hotel was wonderful. WE booked 5 tours and enjoy all of them very much. The breakfast in the dining room was impressive. I opted for a homemade omlet and a fresh yogurt and fruit drink everyday. The selection of food

Hotel Villa Lapas

Hotel Villa Lapas

We stayed at the Villa Lapas for two nights in July, 2005. This is a lovely hotel, with its adobe architecture and beautiful grounds. The highlight, for us, was searching out the frogs and toads that emerged by the multitudes at sunset. Our children enjoyed the swimming pool, and the pool table and foosball tables were big hits as well. The food was very good, but our enthusiasm was dampened a bit at breakfast time by swarms of insects (termites?). The dinner buffet was across the river, with no insect problems. The artisan shops had slightly higher prices than we saw elsewhere, but this was probably balanced by the large variety of goods, much better than anywhere else we visited! We enjoyed hearing the howler monkeys at dawn, seeing an anteater in the forest one morning in the forest near the hotel, and spotting the Scarlet Macaws traveling between the forest and coast at dawn and sunset. The rooms were comfortable with inviting benches overlooking the grounds. We skipped the A/C and opened the windows to hear the forest sounds at night. We would love to stay here again one day.

Tangeri Hotel

We needed a place to stay in Jaco just for one night. This certainly did the trick. Jaco is getting "built up" as I write this so I am glad we got to see it before it is strung with high rise after high rise. The grounds are lovely, the pool(s) are very nice. We stayed in #201 - beachfront, second floor. The balcony view was out to the ocean, sunset and all (which speaks for itself). The beach there is big (perfect for a long stroll) and still pleasantly uncrowded. The hotel offered decent value at $130 for the night including breakfast and taxes. The room was clean, AC worked well. My one suggestion would be to offer towels at the pool.

Cabinas Alice

Cabinas Alice

Vista Guapa Surf Camp

Looking for a surf experience in Costa Rica, I chose Vista Guapa based on the great reviews on Trip Advisor (TA is always right).

Just about everything I read was correct. The view, the immaculate facilities, the food, and most importantly the incredible people are what make Vista Guapa #1. One thing I'd like to add concerning the instructors...Not only are they excellent at helping you improve your surfing, they are also the best surfers on the beach. I enjoyed watching how each time they took off, all the other surf instructors (and most of the other surfers) turned to watch them do their stuff. It's nice being taught by the best. Muchas gracias por todo. I will be back, and I'm bringing mi gente!!

My wife and I spent our honeymoon at Doce Lunas. We'd only planned to stay the first couple of days. But after bannana pancakes eggs, sausage, mango/orange juice and coffee to die for....served to us "IN BED", we agreed there was really no reason to leave this secluded paradise. The first thing that brought a smile to our face was the fact that at Doce Lunas you can drink the water directly from the tap. They boast the best water in Costa Rica.

The hotel is surounded by palms and other trees and from a garden full of flowers and plants that make you relax and feel well. The beach is just steps away from the rooms that are confortable and provided of any comfort, such as a good bed, fridge, kitchen (if you need..I don't) air conditioning, hot water, shower and a nice terrace where to get your breakfast. sit, chat or read. Copacabana Hotel & Suites

I have been staying at the Copa every time I visit Costa Rica, which now has been about 10 times over the past 2 years. I love the Copa, its staff, food, entertainment and definitely its location. I love hearing the music in the morning till night. The karaoke nights are awesome along with the live music. The renovations to the hotel are great especially the pool. The rooms are adequate and the prices, reasonable! I have become like family to the staff including the watchdogs, Scruffy and Sally. I always overstay my visit as the Copa is addictive because its so great! Thanks to all the staff, Fernando, Pablito, Edgar, Vivianna, Raquel, Ginger (the best karaoke singer, ever!) and of course the cook Norma and a special shout out to Keki. I can't forget Luis and Katia for their hospitality as well as Vivecca, Ronald and Myrna for their welcomes and Santiago for watching out for me at night! Gracias a todos, los quiero mucho!!!!!!!! Thanks guys, Pura Vida from la chica de Canada, ya sabes, besos y abrazos fuertes!!!!
